What students are saying...

This course has been such a fantastic and heart warming experience.

I have wanted to do a course with Maiwa for years (but I'm in the UK) and have enjoyed this course so much! Your knowledge and passion for what you do shines out and it's so inspiring to have had this chance to learn from you and Sophena. The tutorials have been clear and so enjoyable to watch and learn from.

- Michele / The Natural Dye Workshop

Thanks so much for a great workshop.

I'm not new to Shibori and Indigo but I learned a ton. I felt that this workshop was even better than some in person courses. Here we were really in charge of our own vats and got to learn what to do, and when to do it. It was great having a few vats going at the same time and I loved seeing the subtle differences in the shades. I feel much more confident and in charge of my blues and I have some fresh inspiration when it comes to the resists.

- Kathi / Journey Into Indigo

This course so far has been beyond what I had hoped.

Charlotte and Tim - Brava for the years of studio work, research, world travel and artisan support and gateways you have provided, and the beautiful and thoughtful way with which you've presented this course is a real pleasure. You're pioneers that continue to inspire and lead!!

- Liz / Natural Dyes: Alchemy Chemistry Craft

Loved the entire course!

I will go back and study each module further. You answered so many questions I had on the processes. I started natural dyeing over 40 years ago with handspun wool yarn, when there was very little information available. Amazing! Thanks!

- Patricia / Print & Paint with Natural Dyes

Absolutely fabulous!

The palette and patterns created by the rust, tannins and indigo resonates with me in my own journey with colour and cloth, and I am looking forward to integrating these techniques into my practice. I am very grateful for how generously Natalie shared her experience, with such delight in her process and grace in her manner.

- Morgen / Tannins, Oxides, & Indigo

This has been the most wonderful course.

The videos are so well put together (even my partner's ears will perk up when he hears the opening theme music and he'll come over to watch for a purely aesthetic experience :)). Instructions are easy to follow, and I love how you provide historical background on the dyes, as well as the important how-tos. The course has whet my appetite for ink-making and has also flooded me with creative inspi-ration. I would absolutely recommend future iterations of this course to others.
