CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY FOR ONLINE WORKSHOPS

In accordance with Teachable’s refund policy, a refund may be requested up to 30 days after the date of purchasing a workshop. Students who request a refund after completing and/or downloading workshop content may be prevented from enrolment in future workshops. There are no refunds for workshops after 30 days from date of purchase.

WORKSHOP TRANSFERS

Paid Online Workshops are delivered to a single user. Workshops are not to be shared or taken in groups. Workshops are non-transferable. 

LENGTH OF ACCESS TO ONLINE WORKSHOPS

Access to online workshop materials will expire three years from the date of purchase.

RECOMMENDATIONS CONTAINED IN WORKSHOPS

Maiwa endeavours to check and verify all recommendations given in respect to materials, techniques and process. Nevertheless, students are responsible for their own choices of material, technique and process. Materials, techniques and processes should be tested prior to all projects. Maiwa will not be held responsible for cost of products and/or labour to produce projects.

The information given and otherwise supplied to users is based on our general experience and, where applicable, on the results of tests on samples of typical manufacture. However, because of the many factors which are outside our knowledge and control which can affect the use of these products, neither Maiwa nor the manufacturer can accept liability for any injury, loss or damage resulting from reliance upon such information.

SAFE USE

All persons handling chemicals and supplies should take precautions to avoid ingestion, inhalation, skin/eye contact, and should be aware of any hazards associated with specific products. Personal protective equipment should be used at all times. Follow good standards of studio hygiene and follow all suggestions for safe use and storage.

Dyes and the chemicals associated with their use may be industrial chemicals and should be handled with care. If chemical products get into the eyes, wash thoroughly with water and obtain medical treatment. Prolonged or repeated contact with skin should be avoided. Wear rubber gloves and use implements to stir solutions and dye baths. Inhalation of dusts should be avoided. If the dyes and/or associated chemicals are handled where particles may become airborne, a suitable dust respirator should be worn.

Chemicals should not be taken internally. Food, drink and smoking materials should be prohibited where chemicals are employed. The utensils used for dyeing should not be used for other domestic purposes (eg. cooking). Chemicals should be stored in areas inaccessible to animals and children.

The Maiwa School of Textiles Forums, Private facebook Groups, Community Groups and the Teachable platform provide places for students to share tips, projects, and ideas, as well as news that might be of interest to the community. Members are expected to be polite, respectful, and use good internet etiquette when interacting with other members in the Maiwa School of Textiles Online Forums, on Community Groups and on the Teachable platform. Comments will be moderated and may be deleted in accordance with this policy.
